John Mohyi, Esq

John Mohyi is a Michigan business attorney with a law degree from Michigan State College of Law and Honors Degrees in Economics and Psychology from Wayne State University. John has a diverse legal background, including litigation, contracts, Intellectual Property, Artificial Intelligence Law, and Entrepreneurial law, among other areas.

Past accomplishments include his work as a legal researcher for the Michigan Council on Future Mobility where John was one of four researchers tasked with evaluating and suggesting modifications to the Michigan Motor Vehicle Code for compatibility with automated vehicles. For over three years, he served as the youngest board member and secretary on the West Bloomfield Zoning Board of Appeals; he is the co-founder and chief legal counsel for the mobile app Karmascore; and the Founder of Mohyi Labs where he holds a patent for an impeller-based propulsion system for drones and flying cars and a patent pending on a noise reducing impeller vane geometry.

In addition to his legal accomplishments, John was also a 2016 contestant on Intel’s America’s Greatest Makers on TBS; a 2016 finalist in the National Inventors Hall of Fame Collegiate Inventors Competition; a winner of the SxSW Lockheed Martin HeloPitch Competition; has served as a First Robotics mentor; and was featured on the History Channel in the "Detroit: Comeback City" documentary for his non-profit work with founding the Michigan Central Station Preservation Society in 2009, which played a role in the stations eventual purchase by Ford Motor Company and recent billion-dollar redevelopment. As an inventor, John is also skilled in the trades and enjoys taking on home renovation projects.

Past keynotes include the 2017 Frost & Sullivan Intelligent Mobility Conference in London, England, on the future of “flying cars” and the five-year anniversary of the USPTO’s Elijah J. McCoy Midwest Regional Office in Detroit.
